Marc

President of U.A.A. npo - Pilot : Marc Loncke :
born in Oostende Belgium on Jan 10th 1961. Graduated as a computer programmer and is currently working as a systems engineer for Data Center Oostkamp near Brugge.

Started flying in 1980 as a Belgian Air force student pilot on Marchetti SF260M. In 2000 he switched to flying ultralight aircraft. Today's ultralights give better performance and are much more cost-efficient than most general aviation aircraft. Flying ultralight aircraft took him all around Europe, he trained in the Alps, fought storms and turbulence and feels more than ready to attempt this world record.

Jackie

Vice-President of U.A.A. npo - Navigator & Copilot : Jackie Avermaete : born in Ghent on Nov 17th 1952. After 13 years of teaching he is now Campus manager for Syntra West in Veurne for over 20 years. During his military service he was part of the F104 Starfighter armament team, he often had to secure the weapons in the cockpit and so started his passion for the "iron bird".

Navigation is his strong side, he first started to practice these skills with the Scouts, over the years aviation navigation became his passion. Navigator and copilot is the perfect job for him as he is more than prepared to start this race around the globe.
